I am from Providence, Rhode Island. I attended art classes in Rhode Island, Kentucky, New Mexico and Arizona. I am interested and moved by the history of art. The impressionist and expressionist art movements influence my work the most. I work in cast metal sculptures, relief printing, mono printing, oil and acrylic painting. I enjoy plein air painting, which simply means painting outdoors. Getting the colors and shapes down quickly before the ever changing light is a challenge and at the same time very enjoyable
My work has been shown nationally and locally, at different locations throughout Tucson, New Mexico and Mexico. I have shown paintings at Karin Newby Gallery in Tubac, Stone Avenue Gallery at 1st Light Creative Center, I was juried into the Desert Artisan Gallery recently. I won first prize at the 2009 Tucson Plein Air Society Show at the Desert Museum. I have included a list of other places including The Murphy Gallery.
I hope my paintings express the beauty of our world. Hopefully painting peaceful places that a person would love to go and spend some time is my goal. I just want to be able to keep on painting.
